Certified Rehabilitation Counselor/Consultant
Amy Peiser Leopold is passionate about justice. An expert negotiator in the field of disability management, she is a tenacious advocate who always believes in integrity first.

With a proven track record spanning more than 25 years, Amy has cultivated a unique practice dedicated to helping individuals receive and maintain the benefits they deserve. As a seasoned evaluator, counselor and coordinator, she is passionate about the rights of all disabled individuals suffering from physical, psychological and substance abuse issues. Amy’s professional expertise encompasses both long term disability as well as social security benefits and includes writing and implementing occupational evaluations, providing vocational and rehabilitation counseling, drafting comprehensive reports, developing and implementing return-to-work plans, and serving as a vocational expert to attorneys specializing in disability law. Regardless of the situation, Amy’s credo is clear: to resolve disabilities issues and empower disabled individuals to either return to work or receive stay-at-home assistance with the ongoing compensation they are entitled to.

As a rehabilitation counselor, Amy is as compassionate as she is competent with unparalleled knowledge of current labor market statistics, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other important industry standards within her field. Recently, she began working at the Bronx VA, interviewing women and documenting their stories. She is also involved with the VA women's health program, where she works to coordinate care. Like a bulldog with a velvet touch, she is a tough but fair vocational expert who always ‘tells it like it is.’

Following the receipt of her Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Boston University, Amy began her career at J.B. Thomas Hospital and then the N.E. Rehabilitation Hospital in the Boston area. From there, she embarked on a successful run with New York’s UNUM Life Insurance Company; first as a Rehabilitation Counselor and then as a Rehabilitation Manager. Independently employed since 1996, she continues to hone her skills regularly through professional workshops, training and online coursework relevant to the field of disabilities.
